A Love Victory in Rwanda

A Love Victory in Rwanda

June 2009

God ordained this ministry to take His Gospel message to the world; and on a snowy February morning, we were about to take another step in fulfilling that mission. The Ernest Angley Ministry’s missionary airplane, Star Triple Seven, stood ready for the flight to her next destination—Rwanda. The Bible says, By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35); and the Lord had let Rev. Angley know that it was His divine will for us to take His love to Rwanda. This was such an important mission that it’s the first time the Lord had commissioned us to spend two weeks in one place, so the flame of the Spirit was burning brightly within our souls as Rev. Angley gave us his final instructions in prayer just before takeoff: "Lord, you are with us, and we are going forth in the same power and Spirit that you went forth ...

A Word From Gloria

We just returned from the nation of Rwanda, and it seems as if they had never seen love before. People never really see love until they see Jesus. Imagine for a moment how it would feel to meet Jesus for the first time, to look into His eyes of love, to sense His divine presence. For the first time, your mind would see love. Even words could not convey what you would experience. His love would tell you that He is the Son of God. For the first time, you would know your Creator. Your whole being would bow before Him and you would pray that all time would stand still. You would realize that He knows all about your every need. Without asking, you would be certain that He sees your heart’s cry for help. Never have you felt so small as He gently reaches out and takes your hand in His. The love He gives is overwhelming. You must know He is the giver of everlasting love and that He possesses all the glory of the Godhead. This is the Jesus love we carried to Rwanda, divine blood love.

Let me take you into the heart of a mother who had never seen love. From the very first moment of her remembrance, all she ever knew was heartache, sorrow, darkness and fear. She never saw the light of love. Somehow she knew deep inside that there was more to life than she was experiencing. Surely there had to be love somewhere, but how could she find it? How would she come into contact with this unknown love? Death and sickness were all around her, and everywhere she turned, she only found hurt. As she sat outside her meager dwelling, her mind was searching, and her soul was longing for her child to know love, for its tiny body to be made whole. The deep set eyes of her baby searched for help, but she had no cure. She knew it would only be days now, for the shadows of death were drawing near. All she could hear were cries in the night. Her soul shouted, "Is there anyone to help? Does anyone care? Oh, please, help us!" But the night was quiet, and her words echoed in silence. It was morning now, and she would make one more effort to comfort her child. Looking up, she saw a man coming her way and she thought, "Why would he be here? Who is he?" As he came near, she looked in his eyes of compassion; and then the words flowed from his heart, "I’ve brought you Jesus. He loves you like no one has ever loved you. He cares like no one has ever cared." This stranger began to tell of the love heaven brought, the love of Jesus. Then she knew! This is what she’d’ been searching for. This was the answer. Jesus was her answer! She didn’t have to search anymore. Humbly, she bowed with this gentle stranger in prayer. Lovingly, Jesus came into her heart and took her in His arms of love. All the hurt she had known vanished away like a cool breeze, and she felt such peace and love. Only heaven could understand what she had found.

Yes, love walked the streets of Rwanda, it walked into hospital rooms, into the villages and dwelling places of those who had never seen love. Love walked into the prisons with the message of salvation and healing for soul, mind and body. All the fullness of joy was given to each soul that hungered for Him and reached out to Him. Never again will life be empty for those who invited Him into their hearts. Never will they be lonely as they bathe daily in His presence.

When Jesus walked the earth, His message was one of deliverance. Today, we are His feet, His hands, His voice, His eyes; and we are going forth with the message of divine love for all humanity. Thousands of people in Rwanda now have been given the light of His love for all eternity; no one has to be left out. If you have never seen love, let Jesus in. He will heal all the hurt you have ever known. He will forgive your sin and make you whole. His name is Jesus, and He loves you.
